In her current role, Lauren works closely with Dr. Nicols as a first assist in surgery, playing a critical role in the operating room. She provides hands-on surgical assistance, including tissue retraction, hemostasis, suturing, and laparoscopic instrument handling, ensuring efficient and precise procedures. Beyond the OR, she is actively involved in preoperative patient evaluations, post-operative monitoring, and patient education, helping individuals understand their procedures and recovery processes.
Lauren has a particular passion for wound care and surgical site management, ensuring optimal healing and minimizing the risk of complications. She specializes in wound assessment, dressing changes, infection prevention, and advanced closure techniques, working closely with patients to promote recovery and overall well-being.
